I am just so confused with this strategy. Bitcoin one much easier to follow as its buy and sell. Vincent can you just write a summary with your total holdings so we know the bottom line numbers please? I think it’s in the text above but not 100%.
Hi Vincent, We do not have access to the Nasdaq Bear Market Indicator in TradingView, correct? Apologies if I'm missing it somewhere, but hoping you can shed some light on how you're using the indicator given what I'm piecing together. The TradingView explainer for the SPX500 Bear Market Indicator states that the green line is the main indicator and the blue line is the retracement from the low. Given the charts shown in the IOFund webinar yesterday (not sure what I can or cannot say about that here), it appears that you are making this trade based on the retracement level (>33%), not that that Nasdaq indicator (green line) went above the threshold, correct? If correct (i.e., green line is…
My understanding was that they already held UPRO, but also held SPXU in an equivalent amount to remain delta neutral. Removing 33% of their SPXU means they now have 2/3’s the amount of SPXU compared to UPRO which means they are 1/3 long. And since these ETF’s are triple leveraged, that means that they are effectively 1x beta long on their whole position size (3x long on 33% of their position, technically)
Hi VIncent, if i understand correctly, you have partially removed the hedge just because NDX has gone above a certain price level. However all other hedge signals are still red. If so, how would you now know when to re-hedge 100% given that all signals are already red apart form price? Will you rehedge when QQQ goes below 338 again?
No, like I said, there are some internal metrics that I mentioned in the post above that turned green in the last few days. Since they were associated with a 30% rise in the Nasdaq, we decided that it was worth exposing ourselves to the market. That being said, the bear market sensitive mode will remain active for the next 30 open market days. Alongside the conventional metrics that can now trigger a hedge, our highly sensitive bear market mode should serve as a good watchdog to put us under our hedge if the winds turn.
For a $300 portfolio (makes the calculation easier) they are now $150 in UPRO and $100 in SPXU. Before the most recent trade they were $150 in each. That's my understanding.

Hi Vincent, I am confused about when you bought UPRO? Was it when the 33% was sold of SPXU? QQQ closed above 338.. so does that mean you buy QLD? TY
